So fugitive gunman Raoul Moat has killed himself after a six-hour stand-off with armed officers (BBC News). As usual with British ironic/sarcastic comedy, the black humour of the situation started more or less as soon as Moat took his first shot.
In addition to the comical quips, the aftermath of the incident is now a media fueled witch hunt about what the police did wrong? The only failing I observed (via tv) that was totally unacceptable was… The muppet Temporary Chief Constable Sue Sim, who probably did more to damage the (thinking/educated) publics perception of police leadership than was previously considered possible.
The best coverage by far of most of the issues/events has (in my opinion) been provided by The Inspector Gadget Blog.
