The alleged leader of an al-Qaeda plot to bomb targets in north-west England has won his appeal against deportation. (BBC Report)
Apparently the special immigration court would not allow the deportation of Abid Naseer despite him being ‘a significant security risk’ because there was a likelihood that… “he faced torture or death back home in Pakistan”.
According to the Human Rights Act; people can’t be sent back to places where they would be “subjected to torture or to inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment”. So, we have to keep a person who has vowed to kill and maim our fellow countrymen?
I Can’t imagine this happening in a non-European Country? Are we simply a forgiving, understanding and caring nation or just plain stupid?
