It appears that fishing is becoming something of an Extreme Sport, one where you can be seriously injured or even die? I was shocked to read this week; Yobs throw grandad into canal (Wigan Today).
I’m surprised there was actually enough water in the canal to fish, never mind present a drowning danger? Most canals in the UK are only about waist deep at most, due to poor dredging regimes by the operators. That said, people have been known to drawn in the bath.
Earlier this month, a man was attacked whilst fishing with two friends near Glasgow and he received serious slash wounds to his face.
Who would ever have thought such a peaceful pastime could become the target of violent yobs?
Sad but indicative of our society I supose?
